Danica Patrick, without any doubt, has earned the title of the best female motorsport racer ever to become into the sport. She has covered the milestones many before and after her are finding it hard to do. The division of opinions Danica Patrick brings to the table about her racing career can be the sole testament to the extent of her reach in the motorsports world.

Danica Patrick, who started impressing the racing world from an early age of 10, made her IndyCar debut in 2005 for Rahal Letterman Racing where she took home three pole positions, making history and winning the rookie f the year award; her IndyCar career lasted until 2011  during the period where she raced for Andretti Green Racing, securing her only win during the time.

In 2011 she switched to stock car racing 2011, first in the Xfinity series (back then the Nationwide series), then the Cup series (Sprint Cup Series) in 2012. Danica Patrick became the first woman to win the cup series pole and the woman with the most NASCAR top 10s during her time in NASCAR that ended in 2017, where she couldn’t perform at the level she would have liked.

Being the sole women racer on the grid, Danica Patrick’s on, and off-track life has always been in the limelight. The love life of the racer has always been the major headlines of the time as she had some high-profile partners such as the likes of NFL legend Arron Rogers and NASCAR racer Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Still, the only person she was ever married to was her former Physical therapist turned husband, Paul Hospenthal, who was involved in her the stages of a racing career, a relationship that ended in 2013.

Why did Paul Hospenthal and Danica Patrick get a divorce?

Paul Hospenthal and Danica Patrick married in November 2005 when Danica was in her rookie Indy series at 23. Paul Hospenthal, who was 41 when the duo got married, started dating the racing superstar in 2003 after they learned about each other as Danica consulted Paul for a hip injury she suffered while doing Yoga.

Paul Hospenthal then shared the track with his wife in the Indy series until she called quits on. The partnership was the major driven force behind the creation of the brand Danica Patrick is now. Alongside running his private Physio Therapy clinics with high-end clients from around the sporting arena, he helped to build and run the Danica Patrick brand.

But things turned wrong in 2012 when Danica Patrick was rumored to have a relationship with her NASCAR rival Ricky Stenhouse Jr. The duo separated in 2013 as she called her relationship with Paul “s irretrievably broken and there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation,” and soon after that announced her relationship with Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

It is safe to assume that the relationship between Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. might have been a factor in the broken marriage. Danica Patrick stayed in a relationship with the NASCAR driver until 2018 when she broke up and started dating NFL veteran Aaron Ruggers. That ended in 2021 when she moved on to date Patrick moved on with businessman Carter Comstock but now remains single after they broke up.
