Bad news for fans of McDonald'sMcCafé bakery menu, as the massive restaurant chain will remove three popular items beginng Saturday at some locations.

The items in question?

The apple fritter, the blueberry muffin and the cinnamon roll.

All three were introduced in October 2020, during the early pandemic. The introduction came as McDonald's adjusted to customers ordering from home.

"We're always listening to our fans and adjusting our menu based on what they crave," a statement provided to The National Desk by McDonald's USAstated. “Starting this month, we’ll be phasing out our McCafé Bakery line-up, including the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll. We know goodbyes are never easy – but fans can still satisfy their sweet tooth with our iconic chocolate chip cookies, baked apple pie and frozen desserts at restaurants nationwide.”

Not all fans are happy, however, as some pointed out on social media.

Not all bakery items will be discontinued as the fast-food chain is keeping chocolate chip cookies, baked apple pies, and frozen treats on its menu.

When the now-discontinued items were added in 2020, it was the first time McDonald's added bakery items to its menu since 2012 when cookies were introduced.
