The Buffalo Bills have had an offseason to forget. Yes, it was intentionally done as such. Else they would have struggled with cap flexibility and an aging set of players. However, the aftermath is that no one really knows how they will fare this season. That said, the one constant is superstar quarterback Josh Allen. But with the hopes of the franchise riding on his shoulders, fans were not happy when seeing his play in practice sessions.
WGR 550 host Sal Capaccio reported that the quarterback initially had a good day, throwing well. However, later in the day, he threw three straight interceptions. Two were of his own undoing, as one was an overthrow, one was a deep shot which was covered well, and the third one was due to miscommunication between the wide receivers. All in all, a troubling end to his practices. But this is not something that fans of the franchise want to hear.
They know all too well that Josh Allen has to be in top form to cover the lack of an elite receiver core. The receivers will improve their communication over time. But those two missed throws are concerning. Those interceptions can cause them to miss the playoffs.
The Buffalo Bills need elite play from their quarterback if the receivers are to grow. The young core needs to build their chemistry and confidence, both aspects which depend on how Allen throws the football. No wonder fans were concerned about their playoff chances.
Fans voice their concerns after Josh Allen has a bad day
Fans of the game know that a lot is riding on Josh Allen’s shoulders. More than them, the Bills Mafia need him to play well. Else they cannot ride the momentum the team has generated over the past few years that has made them a consistent threat in the playoffs. If they are to win a Super Bowl, this young core needs to develop.
This is why, they took to social media to talk about these issues. They do not want it occurring during the regular season. Check out some of those reactions below:
Maybe it was just a bad day at the office for the former All-Pro. Or it could be, he was shaking off rust. Whatever the reasons are, he should be able to clear them as practices move forward. Their ultimate goal is to win a Super Bowl. Josh Allen is the key to that puzzle.
