The Miz and John Morrison teamed up for the first time in November 2007. They had a bitter rivalry going on until then. However, the duo of Miz and John Morrison is one of the most successful tag teams in the history of WWE. The three-time tag team champion duo got separated when Morrison left the WWE in 2011. After a long wait, in January 2020, they finally reunited following the return of Morrison in WWE. They put their hands on the SmackDown Tag Team Championships immediately. The Miz and Morrison: Only On-screen friends?
These two veterans are often get portrayed as on-screen friends. But that is not all. They are good friends in real life too. Recently, in an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, John Morrison discusses his friendship with The Miz and how much he prefers working with The Miz, one of his best friends.
He states, “I really love working with The Miz. He is a great tag partner and wrestler. But, most importantly, he is one of my best friends. One of the people who were there for me when I was gone for the past eight years. I can call him and talk. Now that I’m back, nothing has changed. The chemistry we have on camera is based on authenticity. A lot of times in entertainment that’s not how it is. With Miz and me, we’re best friends off cameras, so it’s easy to show on camera.”
The duo is famous for its whacky promos, shrewd wrestling brains. The Dirt Sheet and Miz TV are two huge successes because of the duo’s uncanny ability to shape up some epic promos. Morrison credits The Miz for his improvement and opines, “Just being cognizant about that, which I wasn’t during the first run. Doing improv and saying things. We are having fun, but we also work really hard on the promos. Everything you see on TV, it’s a process.”
The duo is still working on the current WWE RAW. It will be quite interesting to see what part Morrison’s play in the recent ongoing feud between The Miz and ‘The Rated R Supersta’r Edge.
